CLIMATICA FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH ROTARACT CLUB OF KITANTE
September 14, 2024

On September 14, 2024, Climatica Foundation proudly partnered with the Rotaract Club Kitante on their “Treevolution” project, aimed at greening the Kamwokya Community in Kampala. This initiative brought together various stakeholders, including UNDP Uganda and Kamwokya Christian Caring Community, in an effort to plant 120 fruit trees in two Primary schools-Miriam Duggan and KCCA Kamwokya Primary Schools, and around the Kamwokya community.
Climatica Foundation did not only contribute financially to the project but also actively participated in the tree-planting and mapping activities alongside the Protractors, local community members, schoolchildren, and volunteers.
The fruit trees planted will be grown, and will serve multiple purposes, including providing shade, beautifying the urban landscape, and offering a source of nutrition. Additionally, the trees are vital for improving air quality, sequestering carbon, and creating habitats for local wildlife, especially birds.
The Treevolution project aligns with our mission to promote sustainable urban environments and foster community-driven initiatives. By restoring green spaces in Kamwokya, we are not only enhancing the well-being of residents but also building resilience against the effects of climate change.
We were honored to receive a certificate of participation from the Rotaract Club of Kitante, alongside other partners UNDP Uganda and Kamwokya Christian Caring Community, acknowledging our collaborative efforts in making Kamwokya greener and more sustainable.
Climatica Foundation is excited about future collaborations and looks forward to continuing these impactful partnerships for environmental stewardship and community development.
